Eight application fields

Where our emulsifiers run, what they are asked to do there, and which grades to start from.

W/O emulsion explosives

Emulsion Explosives

SPAN 80 and the VS-201B/C compound emulsifier are the workhorses here — low HLB, high oil solubility, and the interfacial strength an ammonium nitrate emulsion needs to survive storage, transport and detonation.

EC, EW and SC systems

Agrochemical Formulation

Emulsifiable concentrates live or die on spontaneity and emulsion stability in hard water. Pairing a low-HLB sorbitan ester with a high-HLB ethoxylate lets you tune the blend HLB to the active and the solvent.

Soluble oils and cutting fluids

Metalworking Fluids

Oil-based cutting fluid emulsifiers need to hold an emulsion through heat, shear and tramp-oil contamination. PEG oleates deliver emulsification plus lubricity from a single component.

Softeners, antistats, spin finishes

Textile Auxiliaries

Sorbitan and PEG esters run through the whole chain — antistatic agents for acrylic, softening and lubricating finishes, nylon and viscose cord oils, and levelling agents in dyeing.

Pigment dispersion and stability

Paint & Coating

Used as dispersants and stabilisers — including titanium dioxide production — and as emulsifiers for water-soluble coating systems.

Invert emulsion drilling mud

Oil & Gas Drilling

Oil-based mud depends on a lipophilic emulsifier that keeps brine droplets dispersed at temperature. SPAN 80 and the VS-201 series are specified for exactly this duty.

Home & Personal Care

Tween 80 and PEG laurates cover the O/W side — solubilising, wetting and dispersing — while SPAN grades supply the W/O and co-emulsifier half of the pair.

Special Industrial

Anti-fogging agents for PVC, EVA and PE film; antistatic agents and dispersants for plastics; rust inhibitors in lubricants; and acid-bath additives for printed circuit boards.
